Short version: we store your email address, the edition you chose and how you found us. We use Mailchimp to send the emails and to see which links are opened. You can unsubscribe with one click in every email. We never sell or share your address.

Who is responsible

What we collect and why

Email address, chosen edition and content preferences: to send you MCO Intelligence in the language and with the content you chose. Lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR regulation 22), given by ticking the box on the signup form and confirming by email.
Signup and confirmation records: the time and IP address of your signup and of your confirmation click, the version of the consent text you agreed to, and the page or link you came from (for example a YouTube description). Purpose: proof of consent and understanding which of our channels bring readers. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in demonstrating consent and in measuring our own channels.
Approximate country derived by Mailchimp from your connection when you confirm (country code only, no precise location): to understand where readers are. Legitimate interest.
Email engagement: Mailchimp records whether an email was opened (through a tracking image) and which links were clicked. Purpose: to see what readers find useful and to remove inactive addresses after 24 months. This is mentioned at signup; you can block remote images in your email client to prevent open tracking, and clicks are only recorded when you click.

Who processes the data

Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, part of Intuit Inc., USA) stores the list and sends the emails on our behalf under Mailchimp's Data Processing Agreement, which includes the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the UK and EU. GoDaddy (GoDaddy.com, LLC, USA, and its European affiliates) hosts this website under GoDaddy's data processing terms; its servers keep standard access logs (IP address, time, page) for security for a short period. This website sets no cookies at all. It keeps two things in your browser only: the link you arrived from (for example a YouTube description), in session storage until you close the tab, so that a signup can be attributed to the channel; and one flag if you dismiss the language hint.

How long

Until you unsubscribe or until 24 months without any opens or clicks, after which we send one re-engagement email and then archive the address. After an unsubscribe we keep the address on a suppression list only, so that we do not email you again by mistake.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe with the link in every email, change your edition and preferences with the link in every email, and ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data at info@mcoglobal.com. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect emails already sent. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or, if you are in the EU, to your national data protection authority.
